    NMGA Update/Reading Week

Reading week was awesome, it was nice to spend some time with family and friends and just mellow out. However, I didn't get a lot of work done and have been working pretty hard up until today to complete all the necessary assignments......... now for the NMGA Update:
    ________________________________________________________________________________________

Event 1: The Putting Edge, AMC Mississauga on Saturday February 18, 2005

Peter wins his Third Jacket............. and takes the early lead in the Quest for the #1 Ranking (Bastard!)

Ah The Putting Edge, home of the first ever NMGA Tourney (which happened in 2005) and probably the closest match from tee to end in NMGA history (it also coincidentally was without Rob, Phil won it on the 18th hole to break open a whole bunch of ties).

This event started out with much of the same. Mo took for the first two skins. I followed up with the next two skins (the ones I had taken last time). Phil and Steve took skins.... leaving only Peter without skins. Peter, by his own account was playing like crap. For those who are not aware, Peter is so consistent its scary. If we kept track of total strokes last year he would probably have had the lowest. The clown just manages to 2 or 3 every hole. Anyway, by hole 14 Peter sill had no skins. He had come close four holes earlier when Mo had robbed him of three skins with a ridiculous putt. Now this hole was worth 7 skins, and everyone knew the person to take the next hole would secure the jacket.

Hole 14 is the longest hole at The Putting Edge, it measures about 25 feet long and you have to putt straight for the entire thing or you'll hit those retarded obstacles or go down a hill. Mo, who by far was playing the best and looking like the guy to beat was the 1st up and made IT IN 2. I didn't hit it straight, and while both Phil and Steve were clolse they were left to difficult uphill putts from either side and were not in good shape. Standing next to Mo, he was pretty confident. Confident enough that he was pratically dreaming about wearing that jacket out of here. Everyone else was just praying Peter would put an end to his crappiness and just knock it close of enough to get it in 2 and give everyone another shot at the next hole. Apparently Peter was thinking the same thing, cause he underhit his putt. Underhit enough that the rest of us were thinking that maybe Mo had sewn this baby up. But Peter's putt kept on rolling, all THE WAY TO THE HOLE. While Peter erupted in fist pumping, yelling and basically posed like the pic below the rest of us looked like we had been kicked in the nuts. It didn't help Peter saying that he wasn't even trying to put it in, he just wanted to knock it close since he didn't trust himself due to his crappiness for the day. Damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, the rest of the event isn't even worth reporting on since it was inconsequential to the result. This was even worse than the 'Rob'bery that took place at Playdium. But when you're clutch your clutch and Peter has established with his third jacket (in only 6 events) that he is the man to beat. Congrats Peter!

(Pics will be posted later, I'll try and upload video as well........ for now I leave you with this: just look at the pic below and you can get a pretty accurate picture of Peter after the putt...... just also imagine another group of adults behind us looking at Peter and either laughing or looking at him like he was tottaly nuts)
